With Energy…
$800 million in revenue in 2014, owners of the Hawthorne Airport, employs 250 employees and no website or media content? This was the challenge that we were tested with in my M-School Cross-Platform Content Creation course in Spring of 2015. Wedgewood is a real estate investment firm located in El Segundo that specializes in buying and flipping houses. Our job as mini-agencies was to create content that would attract perspective employees and display the company’s culture.
Our group of 4 was tasked specifically with creating a quality storyboard that could hypothetically be taken to production. We had a 2 hour-long visit to Wedgewood, some slide decks and 3 job posting examples to base our idea of the company’s culture on.
With Creativity…
Energy drives creativity and that is the approach that our group took. We really thought about this company and we storyboarded 7 rough concepts out in a few weeks. With our final consumer profile created, we were able to really nail down the energy and aura of Wedgewood. Our golden thread that we wanted perspective employees to feel was the idea of, “Personal Success.”
We realized that our ideas were great, but not on paper or in a slide deck. To convey these ideas we selected parts from 4 of the storyboards and shot 30 clips in 2 hours.
With Versatility…
Personally, I edited 3 of the Wedgewood videos that are on YouTube and linked below. With 4 videos in our back pocket, a slide deck and practice, we pitched our ideas to 10 of Wedgewood’s upper management employees on February 25th, 2015. Each video was met with applause.
